About Us

Who Are We?

Foundation for Children’s Rights (FCR) is a non-profit making organization with its headquarters in the city of Mzuzu, Malawi. It got registered with the government of Malawi under the Trustee Incorporation Act (Certificate #: 2536). The organization is also registered with Council for Non-Government Organization (CONGOMA) and Non-Government Organization Regulatory Authority (NGORA). FCR has so far been implementing project activities in the northern part of the country (Karonga, Rumphi, Mzimba, Nkhata-bay and Likoma) mostly with financial and technical support from HIVOS, SIMAVI, EDUKANS from Netherlands, KNH from Germany, Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), RTI, IPPF, NOVOC and Save the Children, European Union USAID through Globe Hope Mobilization (GLOHOMO) and Lion International, among others. Some of the major projects have been in areas of access to family planning services, Sexual and reproductive health services, prevention of maternal and infants’ mortality, Against Gender Based violence, Ending Child marriages by using approaches like advocacy /lobby, capacity building, women/ girl’s economic empowerment, awareness raising as well as right based approaches.

Mission

The main mission is to contribute towards the creation of a society where children are aware of their rights and responsibilities for proper child development and protection.

Vision

FCR’s vision is the creation of a free, safe and secure society that allows optimum children’s welfare, development, respect and protection of their rights.
