Community Leaders Unite to End Child Marriage in T/A Mzikubola

On 25th September 2025, Foundation For Children's Rights , in partnership with GGI and funded by Ecorys UK through #fawema , held an Area Development Committee (ADC) meeting at T/A Mzikubola under the project “Campaign to Eliminate Child Marriage in Two T/As – Mzikubola and Mabilabo.” The meeting brought together traditional leaders, community representatives, and child protection stakeholders to discuss the drivers of child marriage such as poverty, harmful cultural practices such as the “bonus wife” , long distances to schools, and parental negligence. The community leaders committed to collaborate in building a future free from child marriage in T/A Mzikubola. Together, we are shaping a safer and brighter tomorrow for every child.
